Treatment Procedure
Step #1: Nail Preparation
- Sanitise your hands and request the clients to sanitise their hands.
- Ensure the tools are sterlised.
- Use the cuticle pusher to push back the cuticles.
- Use E-File for the next step, check the
E-File Application guide. - Trim the extra cuticles with the nippers.
- File the nails into shape using a 100/180 grit File.
- Gently buff nails using a grit Buffer to remove any shine.
- Dehydrate and cleanse the nail plate using pure acetone.
(Note: No need to use ‘prep-and-wipe’ or ‘scrub-fresh’ solutions).
Step #2: Forms
- Apply Nail Forms to each nail to fit the nail curve.
- Make sure there are no gaps between the forms and nails.
Step #3: Base Coat
- Gently apply a thin layer of Rubber Base to the tip of the free edge on the natural nails.
- Cure it using the LED lamp for up to 90 seconds.
(Note: If the client experience any ‘heat-spike’, politely ask them to take their hands off from the lamp for a second and then put them back). - Repeat the same procedure for each nail individually, one at a time.
Step #4: First Layer
- Take the hard gel and apply it to the tip of the free edge. Drag it down over the form to establish the extension base.
- Create a length based on the client’s preference.
- Cure it for 30-60 secs using the LED lamp.
- Gently remove the nail forms.
Step #5: Second Layer
- Apply a drop of hard gel in the nails then, spread it side to side and dragging away from the cuticle area.
(Note: Avoid thick build-up around the free edge and the cuticle area.) - Apply a medium bead of hard gel, drag it away from the cuticle area and spread it from side to side.
- Avoid thick build up around the free edge of the cuticle area.
- Use a liner brush to perfect the cuticle and side walls.
- After building and curing one nail, turn the hand over to create the apex.
- Seal the free edge.
- Cure the nails using the LED lamp for 90 seconds.
Step #6: Third Layer
- Apply a third layer of hard gel (if required).
- Follow the same steps of second layer.
Step #7: Cleaning
- Dip the lint free wipes in the cleaner and wipe the nails.
- Remove the tacky layer with acetone or cleaner.
- Refine the surface of the extended nail using a 100/180 grit File.
- Shape to the desired nail shape based on client’s preference using the 100/180 grit File.
- Gently buff the nails to remove the lumps and bumps using the Nail Buffer.
Step #8: Top Coat
- Apply the Extreme Shine Top Coat or Matte Top Coat based on the client’s preference, and seal the free edge.
- Cure it using the LED lamp for 90 seconds. No need to wipe or cleanse after curing.
(Note: All top coats are non-wipe.) - If the extensions are intended to be finished with the gel polish colour, proceed with the ‘Gel Colour Application’ procedure.
- Apply a small amount of cuticle essence/oil to the cuticle area to moisturise them.
What if?
- Fire Alarm rings; STOP the service immediately and guide the client to the fire exit. Continue when it is safe to return, if in case you are unable to complete the treatmet, let the supervisor know and record the notes under clients profile in the booking system.
- Client is unhappy with the Extension; Review if you have missed anything. Explain client about the process and Remember to complete with the After pictures
- There’s a bleeding; Use the disposable blood styptic stick to stop the bleeding.
