Ingrown Hair

An ingrown hair occurs when a hair grows back into the skin instead of outward. These pesky hairs can cause inflammation, redness, and discomfort.

Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation – makes some areas of the skin darker than others and looks like brown, black, red or pink spots or patches

Causes of hyperpigmentation

  • Sun Exposure
  • Trauma / Injury
  • Medications

Bumps

Bumps – are raised or elevated bubbles on the skin’s surface due to pimples, acne spots, insect bites, or moles/warts.

Scarring

Scarring – is a tough/rubbery layer that appears to cover the damaged skin after an injury. Inflammation – appears like red patches and causes burning sensation on the skin due to allergies, irritations, or infections.

Bruising

Emerges after an injury that leading to the skin discolouration and often appears like black, red or purple marks on the skin.

Steroids

Steroids are medicines with anti-inflammatory properties and available in the form of (tablets, inhalers, injections or creams) that used to treat various health conditions.

Ultra-Violet (UV)

UV is an electromagnetic radiation waves from the sun and other artificial sources including: Tanning beds, Mercury vapor lighting (often found in stadiums and school gyms), Some fluorescent/luminous/bright lights and Some types of lasers.

Retinol

One of the ingredient added into skin creams, lotions, and serums to treat acne. Also helps to improve uneven skin tone, pigmentation, and texture.

The excessive use of this may cause skin irritation, redness, and peeling. Hence, not suitable for people with sensitive or hypersensitive skin, some food intolerances, high allergic reactions, and young skin.

Roaccutane

Roaccutane is a medication similar to Retinol that available in capsule forms to treat severe acne. This can also cause significant side effects, including: dryness and peeling of the skin, dry eyes, dry lips, nosebleeds, muscle and joint pain and advised not be used during pregnancy.

Fruit Acids / Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHAs)

It is an organic acid found in various fruits and used in skin exfoliation products. The excessive consumption of AHA may irritates sensitive skin due to over exfoliation.

Laser / IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Treatments

It is the use of light energy to operate specific skin issues such as: removing unwanted hair, treating pigmentation, reducing the appearance of scars, collagen production, wrinkle reduction and tattoo removal.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic technique utilizing fine crystals and a vacuum to eliminate dead skin cells which helps to improve the appearance and texture of the skin.
