Treatment Procedure
Step #1: Preparation
- Sanitise your hands and request the clients to sanitise their hands.
- Ensure the tools are sterlised.
- Remove the top coat by using 100/180 grit nail file and make sure the gel polish shine is properly removed.
Step #2: Soak off
- Soak the cotton pads in acetone, wrap it with nail clips.
- Leave to soak for 10 to 15 minutes
Step #3: Removal
- Remove the clip from one nail and keep the others as wrapped in.
- Then, use a cuticle pusher/orange stick and gently scrape away the loose product from the nail.
(Note: Don’t force to take the gel off if it is still hard, allow the gel to soak for longer.) - Also, use your finger to support the customer’s natural nail tip while removing the gel, to avoid bending or snapping the nail.
Step #4: Buff and Shape
- If there is any Base Coat remaining in the nail use a 100/180 grit file to gently buff it off.
- Then, concentrate on the areas around the cuticles.
- Shape the nails into the desired form..
Step #5: Cleaning
- Dip the lint free wipe in the nail cleaner to clean the nails.
- Apply a small amount of cuticle essence/oil to the cuticle area to moisturise them.
What if?
- Fire Alarm rings; STOP the service immediately and guide the client to the fire exit. Continue when it is safe to return, if in case you are unable to complete the treatmet, let the supervisor know and record the notes under clients profile in the booking system.
- Client is unhappy with the removal; Review if you have missed anything. Explain client about the process and Remember to complete with the After pictures
- There’s a bleeding; Use the disposable blood styptic stick to stop the bleeding.
